Weather News

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Wind Chill Advisory: Franklin County, Hampshire County & western Hampden County until 6 a.m. Friday and for Berkshire County until 10 a.m. Friday. Wind chills -10 to -20 through tomorrow morning.

We’re tracking dangerously cold wind chills into Friday morning. Skies will stay mostly clear and the winds will stay strong enough to bring wind chills to teens below zero through tonight. Air temperatures will drop down below zero into Friday morning and with the breeze the wind chills will make it feel like it’s 10 to 20 degrees below zero at times.

If you plan to be outside be sure to wear a hat and gloves. Frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes on exposed skin. Hypothermia can also occur if precautions aren’t taken to protect yourself from the cold.

Bring pets indoors and limit your time outside.
