On this exact day last year temperatures got up to 87 degrees at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, but that’s not the case today.
Rain, snow, and wind, a little bit of everything was experienced in western Massachusetts Monday morning.
While it’s not completely out of the ordinary to see this type of weather with less than three weeks until May begins, drivers told 22News they want to hang up their winter coats for good.
“Actually my second son was born a couple days ago and this is one heck of a introduction to New England weather,” said Springfield resident, Brian Freeman. “It’s the middle of April, did not expect it to be this deluge here hopefully we get some warm weather soon.”
A wintry mix has also caused a lot of slick spots on the roads, but drivers can expect to see current conditions subside soon making for a smoother commute home from work Monday evening.
